Make a Spa-Worthy Scrub for DIY Foot Care
There is nothing like a spa pedicure, complete with a massaging and exfoliating fragrant foot scrub. Of course, few of us have the time or cash to visit the spa whenever we would like, even if our hard-working feet would have it otherwise. At Premier Foot and Ankle, we would like to pass on a couple of our favorite recipes for a DIY foot care treat you can make anytime. All the ingredients for a spa day are probably sitting on a shelf in the pantry right now.
Peppermint and Rosemary Foot Scrub
You will need: ¼ cup Kosher Salt, 1 tablespoon Table Salt, 2 tablespoons Olive Oil, 1 teaspoon Coconut Oil, ½ teaspoon Rosemary, and 3 drops Peppermint Essential Oil.
To make: simply mix all the ingredients together, and you are ready for a premier DIY foot care experience. Make enough to share with friends and feel the gratitude flow along with your excellent circulation.
You will need: 2/3 cup White Sugar, 1/3 cup packed Brown Sugar, ½ cup Olive Oil, 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract.
To make: mix together. Proceed to scrub your cares away. Note: your feet may smell like a fresh batch of cookies.
Sugar is particularly effective as a foot scrub in a DIY foot care regimen because of its many healthful properties (as long as you do not eat it). Its texture provides natural exfoliation, although it is not likely to scratch skin, as salt sometimes may. Brown sugar contains glycolic acid, which is understood to fight bacteria. Sugar is also a natural humectants that is able to absorb moisture from the environment and transfer it to the skin. The next time you have five extra minutes, mix up a homemade foot scrub and indulge in a spa moment.
